Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
LearningQuiz ("LearningQuiz," "we," "us," or "our") operates the LearningQuiz website and mobile application (together, the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text). If you sign in with Google or LinkedIn instead, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider, and we do not receive or store your password on either platform.
Quiz and learning activity. We store the quizzes you attempt, your answers and scores, the categories, sections, and tutorials you access, and your progress through them, so we can show you your history and results.
Resume checker and skills profile. The resume checker reads your resume entirely in your browser; the resume text, file and edits are not sent to our servers. The one exception is the optional "Improve bullets with AI" button for paid accounts: when you press it, only the individual resume bullets it is working on (up to 10 at a time) are sent through our servers to our AI provider to write suggestions, and we do not store or log that text. If you are signed in and choose to tick "Also save my skills profile to my account", we store a short summary derived from the resume: the skills we detected, a suggested next-topics list, your approximate experience range, your ATS score, suggested roles and study areas. We never store the resume text itself. We use it to show you suggested quizzes and tutorials and, in aggregate counts without your identity, to decide what content to add. You can view, update or delete it at any time from the resume page.
Feedback. If you submit feedback or a rating through the App, we store the message, the rating, and the account it was submitted from.
Payment-related information. When you verify or use a payment method (card, UPI, Google Pay, PayPal, or PhonePe) to unlock Pro features, we record which payment method you verified and a transaction/verification reference. We do not collect or store your full card number, UPI PIN, bank account details, or any other sensitive payment credential - those are handled directly by our payment processors (Stripe, Razorpay, PayPal, and PhonePe), each governed by its own privacy policy.
Technical and security information. We automatically log technical details such as your IP address, the API requests you make, and timestamps. This is used to keep the App secure - for example, to detect and rate-limit abusive or automated traffic - and is retained only as long as needed for that purpose.
Device/session information. On sign-in, the App stores an authentication token on your device so you stay signed in. This token is used only to identify your session with our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to: create and maintain your account; let you sign in with Google or LinkedIn; show you quizzes, tutorials, and your own progress and results; verify payment methods and unlock Pro features you've purchased; respond to feedback; keep the App secure and prevent abuse; and communicate with you about your account when necessary (for example, a password reset).
We do not sell your personal information. The website shows advertising served by Google AdSense; see "Advertising" below for what that involves and how to control it. Your account details and quiz activity are not shared with advertisers.
3. Third-Party Services We Use
To run the App, certain information is shared with or processed by:
- Google Sign-In and LinkedIn Sign-In - if you choose to sign in with one of these, per their own privacy policies.
- Payment processors - Stripe, Razorpay, PayPal, and PhonePe - to process and verify payments. We only ever see a transaction reference and verification status, never your raw payment details.
- Database and infrastructure providers - our database is hosted with Neon (Postgres), our caching layer with Upstash (Redis), and the App itself is hosted on Google Cloud. These providers store data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes.
4. Advertising
The LearningQuiz website shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see them, and measure how well they work. These ads may be based on your visits to this and other websites.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent through a consent message before personalised ads are used, and you can change your choice at any time from the privacy options on the site. Without consent, only non-personalised ads are shown.
If you live in a US state with its own privacy law, you can opt out of personalised advertising using the privacy choices link or message shown on the site, or at https://adssettings.google.com. If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised.
You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can manage personalised advertising at https://adssettings.google.com. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the App will still work, but you may see less relevant ads.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account and activity data for as long as your account remains active. If you ask us to delete your account (see "Your Rights" below), we will delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we're required to keep certain records (for example, transaction records) to comply with law or resolve disputes. Security/rate-limit logs are retained only for a limited period needed to detect and investigate abuse.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypting data in transit (HTTPS/TLS), hashing passwords, and rate-limiting to reduce automated abuse. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent for optional processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at admin@learningquiz.in and we will respond within a reasonable time.
You can delete your saved skills profile yourself at any time using "Delete my saved profile" on the resume page.
You can also delete your account at any time by contacting us at the email above.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Users
We operate from India, and your information may be processed and stored in India or in other countries where our service providers operate. By using the App, you consent to this transfer and processing.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the App.
